From the Field to the Tech: Why I’m Proud to Build Product with Ediphi

Angela Yee
Principal Product Manager

As someone who has spent years on construction sites, first as an architect and later as a construction manager, I know firsthand the challenges that come with planning and managing the built environment. Construction is an industry filled with incredibly talented professionals who have always deserved better tools to do their jobs efficiently and accurately. That’s why transitioning to con-tech and becoming a product manager at Ediphi has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my career.

When I joined Ediphi, I immediately knew I was in the right place. Our mission here is clear: to empower the people who plan the built environment.

Building with Our Customers, Not Just for Them

One of the things I’m most proud of at Ediphi is our commitment to being customer-centric. This isn’t just a buzzword around here; it’s our way of working. Ediphi’s R&D team spends countless hours conducting research, sitting down with our users, and digging deep into their workflows. We don’t just ask, “What do you need?”—we strive to understand why they need it and how our software can genuinely transform their day-to-day tasks.

For example, when users share pain points about repetitive, manual processes, we don’t simply automate those tasks. Instead, we reimagine them. We question why the process exists in its current form and explore how it could be fundamentally improved. Our goal is not to replicate a spreadsheet—it’s to replace it with something smarter, connected, and dynamic.

The Impact of Building for Builders

Every day, I’m inspired by the impact our work is beginning to have on the industry. Our software isn’t just about streamlining workflows or shaving off a few hours of labor (though that’s certainly part of it). It’s about enabling construction professionals to plan, estimate, and manage with greater precision and confidence.

Imagine the scale of what our customers do: hospitals, bridges, high-rise buildings, and infrastructure that shapes cities. When we help them reduce errors or avoid cycles of repetitive tasks, we’re contributing to something far larger than ourselves. It’s immensely satisfying to know that Ediphi’s tools help bring these monumental projects to life more efficiently and accurately.

Transforming an Industry in Need of Change

The construction industry has been hankering for greater efficiency for decades. It’s a field that has too often relied on static, siloed tools—spreadsheets, disconnected apps, or even pen and paper. At Ediphi, we’re not just digitizing old processes; we’re creating a paradigm shift. Our fully connected, cohesive system empowers users to manage the entire pre-construction lifecycle in one dynamic platform.

This shift means fewer surprises, less rework, and better collaboration. For someone like me, who spent years managing projects and wrestling with inefficiencies, this transformation feels personal. I’ve been on the other side, and I know how game-changing these tools can be.

Cultivating a Culture of Innovation

At Ediphi, innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about culture. We foster an environment where curiosity and creativity thrive. Our team understands that solving the industry’s toughest challenges requires more than just technical expertise; it demands an openness to change and a willingness to push boundaries. We actively seek input from across disciplines, leveraging diverse perspectives to create solutions that are both practical and groundbreaking.

This culture of innovation ensures that we’re not just keeping up with the pace of change—we’re driving it. By empowering our team and our customers to think differently, we’re shaping an industry that’s more agile, efficient, and forward-looking.

Closing

Looking back at my journey from the field to tech, I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a lasting impact on an industry I care so deeply about. At Ediphi, we’re not just building software; we’re shaping the future of pre-construction.

If you’re a construction professional dreaming of smarter tools or a tech enthusiast passionate about meaningful impact, let’s connect. Together, we can build something extraordinary.
